Members' Social Responsibility

Lotteries are the main source of funding for the Olympic movement in Lithuania. The support provided by lottery organizers is also important for amateur and professional sports, as well as for culture.

The Lottery Law of the Republic of Lithuania stipulates that 8 percent of all lottery revenue goes to charity or support programs. This means that 8 cents from every euro spent on lottery tickets is directly allocated to areas of public importance.

The Lithuanian National Olympic Committee (LTOK)—an independent, nonprofit, public organization member of the global Olympic Movement.

The Olympic Charter obligates National Olympic Committees to be free from any pressure and to maintain their autonomy—to operate independently of political, legal, religious, or economic influences that might hinder the implementation of the Charter’s provisions. Therefore, to finance the Olympic Movement, the LTOK established “Olifėja,” and the state enshrined stable funding for sports through lotteries in law.

The Lithuanian Paralympic Committee (LPOK) is a member of the association, a long-term partner of “Euloto,” the lottery operator, and a long-term partner of . The company consistently supports and sponsors the country’s Paralympic movement.

Over the past 25 years, members of the Lithuanian Lottery Association have already allocated more than 70 million euros in support to sports and public organizations.

The funds allocated annually by members of the Lithuanian Lottery Association help strengthen and foster the Lithuanian Olympic movement, finance the preparation and participation of the country’s Olympians in the Olympic Games, pay stipends to members of the national Olympic team and athletes in the next generation of Olympians, and support Olympic education initiatives.

Support from members of the Lithuanian Lottery Association is also provided to other sports organizations and projects, as well as cultural institutions. Numerous initiatives in the arts, healthcare, and science also receive support.
